Thanks! And oh no - I am so glad you posted feedback, because actually your initial ideas of how Creator's Choice of Fandom was supposed to work are completely correct - a different thing went wrong (on my part).
You didn't match on Creator's Choice of Fandom. You matched on Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Main Video Game Series) and Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Anime). Which shouldn't have happened, because I advised everyone NOT to combine any two fandoms in a request that wouldn't actually turn into a crossover. (See the last bullet point here under How to combine fandoms.) I checked sign-ups, and reached out where I saw problems, and I completely skated over that one. That was absolutely my bad. I thought I caught them all. Meanwhile, because Creator's Choice of Fandom was new, you reasonably thought that that was the problem - not the two Pokémon canons. Congratulations on rising to the unexpected challenge brilliantly, though I'm really sorry you were put in that position. I should either have asked your recipient to move their canons around, or suggested you pick a different assignment if we caught it after they went out.
(Though if your recipient is reading I hope they also don't feel bad. I keep trying to figure out how to make this rule clearer, or set up the nominations or requests & offers in more intuitive ways. Every year it's confusing for people. They're not the only one to be tripped up. It's just the least worst solution I've found so far that allows flexibility in offers and requests.)
